In the process of buying one of the "polymer types" and need to know if one caliber has a better re-sale value over the other. Not comparing Hi-Point to H&K or anything mismatched. Hk to Hk, Glock to Glock, Sig to Sig, and so on. I'm inclined to think 9mm has the edge because of its' worldwide use, availability, and cost.

I think it may have to do more with what the person is looking for. If they are the same exact model, just a different caliber then their are a lot of factors. In 2008 I could not find a reasonable priced .40s&w, don't know why. When the Obama panic hit, 9mm where the first to go, per gun stores I talked to. The guys told me it was because customers said they needed to "stockpile" ammo and they could get a lot more 9mm for the money.

Re-sale?! Unless it's a total POS, no reason to ever sell a gun, just go buy another. :)

In all seriousness though, I'd give a slight edge to the 9mm, due to the lower cost of ammo.

I've got a couple buddies that both bought a Glock 22 and now wished they had opted with the 17 or 19 because they're cheaper for the range.
