I have a black Bianchi Sap from the 70's in new condition. Anyone out there who collects/own them and have an idea of its worth. I know Bianchi no longer sells them and are they legal to own or carry.
Saps are generally illegal, with exceptions to the contrary for certain states, and I recall at least one state makes an exception if you have a 'concealed weapon (not just handgun) license'.. Which brings the immortal THR question: Where Do You Live?
As far as value, depends on your buyer. A sap is a very simple machine (generally leather, lead, stitching and a spring) and it's hard to save money on materials for something built like that, so one made in pakistan today would be worth about as much to the pragmatic user. Now, if someone's out there and wants a *bianchi* sap, you can probably get a little more from them.
(Pennsylvania's laws speak of 'offensive weapons' and things carried for 'unlawful use'.. had I a million dollars and no real concern with getting nabbed on a weapons charge, I'd probably try to go to court and argue that self defense is a lawful purpose..)
