I routinely use the Hornady powder cop die to check charges before seating on my LNL progressive and when doing small diameter cases (9mm and 223) I can pick up even slight deviations in charges, like a couple tenths of a grain. Doing larger diameter stuff i think the plunger sinks in the powder sometimes. It just doesn't seem to be near as precise. I know charges are to be checked by weight and not volume but it is a handy indicator and does prove out failry accurate when it makes me suspicious and I doublecheck the suspect charge on the scale. With the small diameter stuff anyway. Anybody figured a trick for a wider plunger? I'm thinking maybe a plastic cap or something but it would hae to be BRIGHT so I could see it if it fell off in a case...lol
