I made this little guy to be a B&T, but the way it came out it's more of a EDC really, especially where blade size is limited like here (2 1/2"). This is 1/8" O1, 2 3/4" blade, hollow ground, heat treated by me. Red/blue G10 for the handle. The wife really liked it so I gave it to her, but I'm going to be making more of these!

Nice looking little knife. I agree it looks like it could be handy in the kitched also.

I'm gonna make a bunch more of these and vary the blade size and see what comes out of it. These are pretty handy to have around. :)

Great design!

I love it! It looks great: very functional, yet attractive.

Are the scales removable? If the knife's to be used in the kitchen, it would be good to be able to remove the scales and wax the tang every few months.

I think you've already found a "sweet spot" in blade size and overall design. Great work!

Hmm, good idea about the handles. I used waterproof (slow setting) epoxy and G10 is pretty much impervious to water so it should work in the kitchen.

You've really come a heck of a long way in a short time Valkman! Thats a very nice looking knife
I'm a big fan of O1 but don't know if I'd send it into the kitchen as easily as it rusts. I've tried really hard but never have been able to convince someone that a little discoloration on the blade doesn't mean that there's something wrong with the knife or that they did something wrong. With proper care it will just turn dark, but people still make a huge deal out of it :banghead:

True - if I ever make kitchen stuff it won't be with O1. Thanks for the kind words - I just ordered my first piece of Mike Norris Damascus to try so we'll see how that goes. The guy at Sheffield Supply also some had some "cheap" damascus and he sold me a piece 3/16"x4"x20" for $125. That is cheap! The other piece is 1/8"x1 1/2"x8" and it was $122. :)

Thanks Steve! I'll be makin' a bunch more as soon as the big order of steel I made gets here. I'm making 2 right now but I'm about out of 1/8" O1!
