Well, for my 57th birthday, I went shopping. Went to Cabelas, Cheaper Than Dirt, Bass Pro Shop, and Sportsman's Warehouse, all in the DFW area. :D :D :D :D

SWMBO bought me everything I wanted (well, not the SOCOM M-14 or the Norinco Win 97)

Was surprised to see that prices on handguns were about the same at Cabelas as they were than CTD, but, not surprisingly, CTD beat out everyone else on ammo prices. Picked up a 50-rd box of .45 ACP 230-gr premium Federal Hydra-Shoks for $18.97. :what:

Felt like I was 7 instead of 57, and had just been handed the keys to the candy store! Finished the day with an excellent steak at Saltgrass Steakhouse in Lewisville.

Life is good!

Good on ya. CTD is a 'must stop' when I'm on that side of the counties.

I never seem to be able to keep up an adequate stockpile of ammunition unless I go fill a basket there every now and again.

Glad you got over to Saltgrass, too. Between the Porterhouse, strip, and the ribeye it's a tough call as far as I'm concerned. I always try to rotate through that selection...and always a cold Shiner on draft.

Regards,
Rabbit.

Well, happy b'day kid!

Y'do realize, that on SWMBO's b'day you're in for a day of shopping @ Victoria's Secret, sniffing every scent @ the perfume counter @ the local big fashion store, checking out and probably buying a new double bed and then a recliner built for HER body size which you mustn't sit in...followed by another session @ the steak house!

(BTW, suggest that, on yr own, get a slinky nightgown for her & present it while she's arranging for the bed delivery.)

You better practice up on noncomittal answers to questions like "Does this color make me look fat, dear?"

This may sound like I'm badmouthing the whole process, but there is much joy to be had in the pleasing of a loved one, and you've obviously got a keeper there!
