Just wanted alert y'all to a show that features a mix of BP guns and modern guns. This spinoff of TWD is set in France where firearms ownership is limited.
The basic story line is our favorite TWD crossbow wielding character somehow lands in France via boat and it now trying to get back home to the USA.

This article broadly covers some of the firearms laws. Stating BP arms are easily obtainable.

A few years ago, I recall looking at some real estate online in France and one house prominently featured the owners collection of 22LR semi-auto rifles.

Bad guys?

Pics are from:

I missed the 1st episode but have caught the 2nd and 3rd episodes. It's kind of fun but seems lacking in plot line. The Zombie trope is getting old and I had pretty much given up on The Walking Dead around season 4 of 5. I did go back and watch the last 2 seasons of the original show - just to finish it.

My only disappointment so far is the lack of C&B revolvers. Especially since France has a number of huge online BP gun sellers that sell C&B revolvers all over Europe.

I haven't watched any of it, it seems like every other show now is a zombie show. That Sharps Daryl has is a paper cutter in a Gemmer style. It has a Hawken forearm and a cleaning rod for the ramrod look.

It looks like they're trying to be period correct. It looks like they made the blunderbuss out of a musket. You can see the seam where they added a period correct flare. The pistols from what I can see are pc too. One of them has a ring hammer or to be pc a cock.

I used to watch the Walking Dead series which I found entertaining but after a few years it started to become same ol' same ol'. And the final two years of the series I'm just sitting there thinking....let's just get this over with. Looks like the lady with the Springfield M1903 has the most modern of the weapons.

Its a K98 Mauser, but same action, lol.
It makes some sense that they would revert to BP since you could theoretically make it yourself if you could find any ground-level sulphur (not easy now, in any quantities). There would still be plenty of modern firearms floating around Europe, though, even 10-15 years after The Fall, looted from military armories if not civilian stocks.

You'd think I would know since I have a Turkish 1938 Mauser hanging over the fireplace for the last 20 years and walk by it everyday....LOL! I bought it from SOG for $49 as a wall hanger. Somewhere in the back of the gun safe I have a Smith Corona M1903 that I probably haven't seen in 20 years either. Out of sight, out of mind. Needless to say, her rifle did look familiar...LOL!.

It looks like the dude in the top pic on the left stole her bayonet. I had my Mauser turned into a deer rifle and my Smith Corona 1903 A3 I had turned into a target rifle.
