Received the manrikifgarotte and v-gar 2 belt from bladeririgger yesterday.

Easily deployed from hidden in the belt, it carries a titanium manriki 4" long at the opposite end of the thin plastic coated steel wire.

Can't get on the planes with it but other than being wanded at a checkpoint there is no way anyone would see it in plane view worn inside the v-gar belt system.

It will always be there if needed as a last ditch backup implement. I also have a $100.00 dollar bill tucked into the end of the belt at this time which has a hidden zippered compartment for such items.

Hidden in plain view and accessable immediately if needed. It can be used in various applications in different ways, swinging the manriki after depolyed, held in the hand and used as a defensive implement, etc.

It's just always there and I like that idea. It adds another level to the defensive tactics one can employ without adding anything to the pockets, in the waist etc.

I like it for what it can be.

Uhh, Brownie, I don't think you are suppose to cuss on the forum...:scrutiny:

Unless, of course this is yet another cool knife you have aquired? Never heard of it and does not come up on Google, got any pics?

Correct observation. The 4" Manriki, made of titanium won't do much damage as the end of a flail.

I envision it as a always there, never noticed, used for possible tourniquet, trapping incoming, securing someone after an "event" or the manriki in my hand used against pressure points or striking to soft tissue areas or as it's name suggests.

The Manriki is pulled from the belt line until it appears in your hand, very low key last ditch. I like things that can be used for defensive purposes yet do not require any additional effort.

I wear a belt everyday, now it's this belt.

James makes some great gear and I have had one of his quaikens with silk wrap for about 9 years now.
Carried on a custom bladerigger shoulder harness and the static cord sheath.

A-2 steel and has always disapppeared when I needed it to.

If you stuck it in your carry-on, it would probably show up on the x-ray, but would they know what it was or would they just let it through? Of course, then you'd have to take it out of the bag to use it.

If it is as flexible as a cord, it probably has a million uses that have nothing to do with combat.

Hi Don,
It is extremely flexible as you thought. Very thin steel wire/cable thats rated at just under 500 lbs. tensile strength.

I can barely feel the manriki in the belt [I know where to look ] and can't by touch feel the cable at all.

A pat frisk related to a threshold inquiry would not find it in my opinion. Having the experience in street frisks for my own safety I wouldn't find it normally as that isn't something I'm looking for.

When I talked with James that was my first question to him. It will show on x-ray and will set off the metal detectors accordingly.

It has many potential uses other than the name suggests and I don't believe many officers would know what it was so why bother to explain it to them.

If found [doubtful during a search, and I'm not one being searched often to begin with ] it could be explained away as being there for a multitude of uses.

Yeah, it's a neat system. I just wish it came in a more conventional (leather) belt.
