Blazer Brass vs Win white box

I found the Blazer brass to actually be cleaner than WWB in my .45. I have used quite a bit of BB in my .357 as well and found the Blazer .22LR to be one of the best rounds in my 10/22.

The brass used in BB is not cheap brass(at least not more so than other lines). i have toured the factory that it is made in and talked to the engineers there. The brass is made the same way on the same machines with the same materials as the speer, CCI, Federal, and other brands that are made there(depends on caliber and current contracts). The BB does not however go through the same levels of quality control as the more expensive lines(which are hand inspected and loaded into boxes).

Aluminum cased stuff is a whole different story. Even the engineers there had little good to say about that

There is also a distinct possibility that ATK has outsourced some of the BB at times which could be one explanation of quality problems. They where extremely busy and expanding capacity but not able to meet all needs(.17 HMR had displaced all of their .22 WMR which was being outsourced.) when I visited them.

For me both rounds seem to feel and perform similar. However, I just started reloading and I noticed that after tumbling the inside of the BB cartridges looks a little cleaner which makes me think the BB might be a little cleaner overall. The inside of the tumbled WWB / BB case is still dirtier than a "dirty" fired Fiochi (sic?), Speer, or RP case. I figured it was oxidation until I took apart an unfired WWB round and found it to be nice an shiny on the inside.

I find them to be about the same, so I buy whatever is cheaper. Both shoot to POA in my pistols, so I don't sweat it. I'm a loyal fan of saving my cash.

evan price, PCRit you can call BS all you want. I did'nt say it was cheap brass, but one of the best Gun Builders of our time did. I never had a problem with it myself, just followed up on what someone told me. You can take it or leave it, but I think I will take the advise of someone that has nothing to gain by making that statement and makes one of the best pistol's made.

I bought 1 box each last weekend at my local Wally World to go play with.

I had a Blazer Brass dud. Primer popped, but no bang. After unchambering, the primer was gone completely, and I was able to pour powder out of the primer hole.

Other than that, they both seemed to go bang, as for accuracy, I need practice, both seemed about the same from bench.

I can buy with my wifes discount at Wal-mart 100 pak winchester white box for $18. If I could find blazer brass any cheaper in price I would buy them also. For paper punching both work great in my kahr PM9.

In my experience shooting a Smith M&P 9 the BB often ejected straight back and hit my head a high percentage of the time. Never had this problem with WWB.
Maybe it was one lot of BB, but based on my limited exposure, BB seems to be loaded on the wimpy side.

And if your Walmart carries Blazer Brass, even at 50 rounds, two boxes is still cheaper than 1 WWB 100 rd count, and the discount still applies.

Because thats what I do. Unless they're out of BB, then I buy WWB.
