Hi everyone,
New to the forums..looks like there's a lot of good people here.

I've been blind in my right eye basically since birth. About a year ago I picked up my first handgun and began to really enjoy shooting. I had to put it away for a few months due to travel but am back home again and want to get back into practicing weekly and become a good shooter.

I've noticed that I am very consistently grouping my shots a little high and to the left. I'm happy to be consistent but not so happy about where the shots are placed.

Could this be due to me being a right handed shooter and a blind right eye? Or is it more likely to be my technique that's causing this?

I shoot a Glock 23, thumbs forward grip and basic Weaver stance.

thanks for any help or suggestions you can provide

HK-Freak is right on your grip or technique. Keep trying and practice, practice practice!

I've been blind in my left eye since birth too, but I am an expert with a camera and very good as a shootist. If anything, having vision in only one eye will probably make you better on some precision activities.

Do you shoot right or left handed? I think it would be easier to be blind in the right eye and shoot left handed....wouldn't it? I'm not saying you're a good shot because you have it easier, I'm sure you practice a lot

i have no sight in my left eye. when i practice, i use a single hand grip, DAO, 60% left (weak) hand and 40% right (strong) hand. my most recent results with my favorite hand gun----a S&W model 64-5 , 4 inch barrel and bobbed hammer spur............ target 8 X 11 inch at 32 feet. but these results are an effort of a few years and several 1000 rounds of ammo...just practice, improve and have fun.
