Ok, so i take it engraving a defensive firearm and especially a glock is an unpopular idea. so my new question(s) are how many people carry a handgun that has ANYTHING non factory on it? how many have a customized gun they use for home defense? could the fact that you use hp instead of fmj rounds make a difference in the case? how about +p vs standard loads or handloads.? what about the fact that you use a sig instead of a glock. in one way or another im sure all of this could end us up in the clink. my thought is that once the deeds been done your fate hangs by a thread and the skills of a total stranger. unless, you have some schooling/training to back it up, a good lawyer, a clear case or a good witness. i wonder if we should put so much worry into wether or not what our gun looks like will wind us up in the slammer, seems like we're caving into the lawyers if you ask me. i figure why worry about it.

W.A.

p.s. The glock is an ugly gun admit it, damn good, but ugly ugly ugly.
with all the guys running around out there with cute 1911's can you blame me for wanting to dress my piece a little prettier? if anything just to make it more mine. :D

good shooting

Bling bling...

In my opinion, engraving a Glock is something like putting a spoiler on my old 1963 VW bus. Sure, you can do it, but then what have you got?

VW Glock?

My VW bus turned heads--usually by the noise of the engine straining to get to 55 mph. The tire cover on the front with a flower painted on it (on there when I bought it!) didn't hurt either.

Honestly, though, I feel about my Glocks the way I feel about my VW bus. They're not pretty, but they do the job they were designed to do. I'm only glad I don't have to adjust valves on my Glock--or clean the carburetor!

Since I bashed your Glock in the previous thread...I'll try to be a little more serious.

I think the issue of what your gun has on it, looks like, or type as well as what ammo it is fed is a moot point when were talking about how it will be viewed defense standpoint in a trial. There is a thread going on right now about that here

And to address your question. All my guns are set up the same way. (most anyway)Hogue grips, Novak sights. I have two 1911's with wood grips. No other modifications from have been done.

Smoke

(I'm still feeling like I was a little too snotty on you last thread - please accept my apologies.)

I have night sights on some of my semiautos (the ones I'd carry). I have a factory hammer shroud on my Agent. I own Pachmayr grips for my Security Six, but I don't leave them on for carry, just for shooting.

I know the beauty of the Glock is in the eye of the beholder, and I know this example is more an attractive picture than a picture of an attractive gun, but any time I see someone talking about the Glock being unattractive, this is the picture I think of.

It is laynlow's, by the way.

After holding back the VW Glock tears of laughter.............very good, I needed that, Ill say "Hell yes Ive modified my carry guns! I modify then in a way that makes them even more dependable should I have to use them to defend my life. And Ill scream it from the highest tree :D

Any Pros/DA who thinks he can railroad me for "having a custom killing machine" will have another thing coming. I can justify anything I do to a layman and if I have too bring in an expert witness that will back me up then I guess I have to do that.

With all of the controversy about the safety and such of Glocks vs 1911's and how they are percieved in a court case its scary to have anything done to your gun that will compromise your "good character" or the pros.'s ability to make you look like a gun wielding maniac. Thats why I stick with proven things to do to them...polish feedramps, stone rails, recoil springs...trigger jobs within reason! night sights etc.....................

Shoot well.
