Any one carry a blued revolver in Hot/Humid weather, and how has it held up to rust? I do farm work, and recently a young lady was attacked by "wild" dogs. The farm is 10min away from where the lady was attacked.

All I own are Blued revolver, and I was worried about rust issues?
I do own 1 SS but it's a Big 6 1/2' barrel, and just wont work well while on the tractor.

Just wipe it down with a cloth treated with a good gun oil post carry and you should be fine. However, if you are directly perspiring on to the finish of the revolver the salt in your sweat could cause a problem. In that case I would advise treating the finish with a few coats of paste wax or some high-tech substance like Boeshield or CorrosionX.

I carry a blued gun daily, and live in the Puget Sound where humidity can be high, but it is NOT accompanied by high heat. I have had no issues with rust; I'm very satisfied with the Boeshield T-9 product listed below. I also make it a habit of immediately removing my firearm from a damp holster when I return to "home base", and inspecting for rust. However, certain parts of the country can be tough on blued finshes : for instance, folks from the Houston, TX area, where humidity is accompanied by very high temperatures, have reported to me that keeping a blued finish rust-free can be problematic.

I carry my blued 2 1/2" Model 19 in a Bianchi #3 IWB and have no problems so far. I wipe it down, with an oiled cloth, every evening and remove it from the holster, so it can dry out overnight.

No Problem

Hey There:
While I am not about to say your gun could not rust, just oil her up after being out and there should be no issues. Some SS guns can even show rust if neglected. Working guns are working guns and may end up looking like one.
Friend of mine carries one on his tractor all the time and it looks like it , but still shoots very well.

I have some originally blued guns that are now missing most of their finish. However these unfinished plain carbon steel guns haven't rusted because I keep them coated with Johnson's Paste Wax or a similar automobile paste wax. The only reason I can see that blued guns get rusty is because they're owners neglect them.

Ditto Old Fuff. I used silicone car wax way back before SS became an option on both my carry and hunting guns. Much less regular attention needed to maintain the finish and protects both better and longer than oils. Another plus is that it doesn't transfer to your clothing , holster or skin.

Don't see any reason why it wouldn't work just as well on stainless.
