Skunk: I have noticed your a little...less large than myself. I just wanted to make sure you had done some sort of serious activity and then ate a heater meal. I might give them another try, but bring some more side stuff(applesause, pudding, etc.) Taste wise I think they kick mre's little butts. I was just always hungry afterwards ...

They make some complete meals that run $2 more that come with a few sides (crackers or cookies and pudding, froot or applesauce) along w/ a bottle of water...but they seem like a lot of bulk to me since I already have water, and I can imagine they probably won't be packed down that tight...considering them though.

Skunk: . We did get some of those complete heater meals + sides last january, and until you mentioned them, Id totally forgot about them. THe box is a lot bigger than the standard heater meal, and the quanity of food is provided that you can actually eat a meal, and slip some snacks into a pocket for later. They even come with some pretty decent spice packets for the entree. The water bottle is what adds most of the space, so you if you dont mind repacking them, just take out the bottle of water, and you should be able to condense them down a lot. Do you have a online source you order your heatermeals from, or a local brick and mortar?

Sapperleader, I ordered them di-reck. I got the meal-only variety pack. The complete meals only come in bulk packs of 10 of one meal only.

They said they could repack them for a fee to have variety but as I thought about it, I may as well just get 10 of a meal I like. I eat 10 of the same things in a row even WTSIHTF (when the caca isn't hitting the fan). I had curry straight for a week and a half once.

Skunk:

Curry, one of my favorites.

My wife makes a chicken curry from scratch with curry direct from India. It'll fix what ails ya and then some. Good on cold nights for dinner.

Some like it hot;)

I cataloged my BFM contents last night, I hope to catalog my Blowfish (car bag) tonight.

Thankfully I did this, some of the medicine I carried in the BFM had expired. Mainly it was Advil that was only a month out of date, but I figure go ahead and get it replaced.

Curry, one of my favorites.

Brownie, why do you think I'm SKUNKabilly? :D

Sportcat, yeah it's embarassing huh. I did that last time I checked my pack, when we turned our clocks back in Oct. (good way to remember when to inventory)

My SHTF car kit, broken down into components.

Schuey, what you see is what I got.

Essentials:
First aid kit (see www.adventuremedicalkits.com under mountain series then fundamentals for inventory)
paracord
12 CR123 batteries
duct tape
snakebite

am/fm radio

Shelter:
Complete change of clothes (underwear, t-shirt, wool tights, wool tip t shirt, Coolmax shirt, 5.11 pants, wool gloves, wool socks, wool beanie, boonie hat and waterproof shell) all stored under driver side seat since it's too bulky to store in the bag, and I always borrow from it when it's cold out
Wiggy's 0 degree bag
Matches

Water & food:
3 liters of packaged water reinforced by cardboard box
Purification tablets
Water filter
Survival rations

That's about it.... the rest of the stuff (Surefire, leatherman, Nalgene, etc.) is on my person.

Skunk, the reason that I asked is, because of the crappy video card in my computer all I see is black pixels (with a smattering of lightly colored objects)..

With out dry socks and TP, it may well be a miserable time. Never under estimate the value of dry socks.
