Last night was the first night of bullseye league for this season. Nice to see all the guys that I have not seen since last April.

One of the shooters said he had some 38 special brass he had acquired and since he does not shoot 38 special and knew that I did, he asked if I wanted it. I figured probably a small baggie. I go out to his truck and it turns out to be most of a plastic grocery bag full, probably 10 pounds or more. I get home and pull out a few handfuls and it turns out it is all 357 magnum, not 38 special.

I have somewhat of a dilemma. Should I:

a) go to THR and gloat
b) shoot more 357
c) complain to the guy that the brass is the "wrong" caliber
d) take it to the junk yard and turn it in

Shoot more .357, unless that will destroy the nerves in your hand. In which case work up a safe load that has the power level of a 38+p? Unless of course your pistol is chambered in 38 not 357 then I have no idea... if its good brass don't scrap it.

most of my 38 spl shooting is a model 52, so 357 is not an option there.

i won't be scrapping it.

i might see if i can trade it for something i do need after I sort through it and make sure it all is 357 after all. but all of the 2 or 3 handfuls I pulled out were so i expect it is.

I voted "a". I shoot a lot of .357 magnum. Where was I when this guy passed out all this .357 magnum cases...Wrong line again. I guess.

Obviously, you're only recourse is to sell me the Model 52 and use the meager proceeds to buy a .357 Magnum handgun or carbine. No need to thank me, just trying to help.
