Annual memberships are 35? Assoc. memberships are $10. I joined as a life member a long time ago & don't pay any new dues. They also spend money on other things, too.

Mass suicides by animals in nature just don't happen, even though a
myth created by a Disney feature on lemming mass suicide is widely
believed (see:http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/lemmings.htm )
However, humans, supposedly more intelligent than lemmings, do engage
in self-destructive behavior and in mass suicides. Usually, such
events are sad, not spectacular, and painful to watch.
Tonight, we have an opportunity to watch Democrats act in a
party-destructive way by contributing to a CeaseFire (MAHA renamed)
fundraiser.
It wouldn't be fair to characterize this "mass party suicide" as
spectacular, but past experience indicates it is well worth watching.
Rather than depressing, it should be a joyous occasion since the
sooner these Democrats self-destruct the sooner a viable and freedom
respecting party can emerge to replace it.
The mansion has a brick walkway crossing its front from one side to
the other. It is reasonable to believe that both paths will be used.
There is a sidewalk in front and on the sides of the mansion where we
should gather to demonstrate our displeasure with the Democrats.
Under no circumstances obstruct anyone or be rude. Good humor and
gentle derision will do what we need.
Hope to see many of you for the start of this event (7:00pm) to give
raspberry cheers to the participants as they arrive.

Directions to the event given in the CeaseFire announcement include:
From DC
495 to I-270 (exit 34)
Follow I-270 North to Rt. 28 West
Follow Rt. 28 West 4.5 miles
Take second entrance into Kentlands at Rachel Carson E.S. (Right turn)
Follow signs to Kentlands Mansion
At dark, it can be a bit difficult to see the signs to Kentlands
Mansion and I didn't see Rachel Carson, so I would add the following.
While on 28 heading west, you will cross Muddy Branch Rd (traffic
light). In about 1.3 miles at another light, you sill cross a street
named Main (on the right) and Owens Glen Way (on the left). On the
left you will see a brick wall mounting a sign "Potomac Valley". Take
the next right on Tschiffely Square Rd. Keep on Tschiffely for about
.25 mile turning right on Leakes Lot Way. It will come to a cross
street after a right curve. Go left (I believe it will be Firehouse
Lane) and within 100 yard you will see a lake to your right. Take a
right on Inspiration (or if you miss it, the next street is Briscoe).
The mansion will be on your left facing towards 28, the lake and
Inspiration which crosses in front of the mansion. You should see it
within 100 yards of your right turn on Inspiration.

Uh-oh, my lurking has been discovered! I've been keeping up with the MD related posts since the legislative hearings last year. It was nice to meet "Spot77", Phil and John last night and I hope to meet more of you next week at On Target. I'm also a member so I could call to reserve a lane in advance if that would help. I guess I'll ask that question in the Rallying Point thread now that I know how to post messages. How do you get the smilie face into the message?

I feel terrible that I couldn't be there last night. My kids had a long day and were tired and cranky. Sorry.

It was great talking with you last night. If just ONE person that attended the event has a change of heart, then I'll consider it worth the long trip.
Having Greg register at THR makes me wonder how many other "lurkers" are there from Maryland. I have almost 70 Md THR users on my "buddy list". If half of the people on that list could've attended along with people from the TRT, ASA, AGC, etc, we would have overshadowed Ceasfire's "crowd" of 50 people or less EASILY.
Greg, I have a little menu next to the text screen where I'm posting that shows all of the little faces. You might have to go into "user cp" to set it up.

yep, we have had a hard time getting gunnies to show up for an anti MMM rally at a gunshow on a Saturday.
if they had 50 then their numbers are down from last year

Being forced to stay outside, and with only Greg and I on one side, and John and Phil on the other, I didn't get a good look.....but I'm 90% sure Garagiola was there. It was hard to tell by peeking through the windows
