A friend just gifted me 1000 large pistol primers from Bosnia-Herzegovina. He had not used any of them. They are in a white box with black print. It almost looks like a generic product if you remember those from back in the day. Have any of you used any of these?

That leads me to another question. I understand that CCI/Federal/Remington and Winchester is taking care of their ammunition needs and not supplying primers to reloaders, and I get it. Who is supplying primers to people like Black Hills, Nosler, Buffalo Bore, etc.? I really wish someone would start importing some primers. Not just so that we had current stock, but so that I did not have to purchase CCI/Federal/Remington and Winchester in the future. I understand the need for them to protect their own ammunition market, but it truthfully irks me that they just dumped us reloaders totally.

They probably have contracts and get taken care of before primers are sold as reloading components. Still, they are probably getting fewer primers than they got before.

Obama did something to restrict the import of foreign primers.... we used to have other options like wolf but not anymore... I would not expect Biden to help.
My understanding is that the primer import restrictions were limited to companies owned by Russian bigwigs after Russia occupied the Crimea and then used proxy forces to invade Ukraine, that's why you no longer see Tula/Wolf primers for sale.

Several European countries began exporting primers to the US during the "Banic" associated with the 2008 election. After going to the trouble and expense of setting up importation and distribution networks, their sales crashed when the market evened out and American reloaders went back to buying CCI, Federal, Winchester and Remington primers rather than the imports.

Why would you expect them to make the same mistake again?

The smaller companies have contracts and get theirs. I’d guess when all the contracts are filled does the rest hit the shelves for us. It has been bad before but not to this level and with that said, primers will only trickle out now and again and you need to be quick when the chance arises. The unis-ginex work as well as any others I have tried. I wish I had gotten a few more cases of the Fiocchi small pistol from midsouth,1500 to a box and 12,000 to a case.

These were my last purchases to top everything off before the excrement hit the oscillating device.

If the have already established a path, they have a good window of opportunity.... risk assessment is business and really there decision to make... S and B could bring boat loads of products over from 9mm loaded to primers and sell them all.

A buddy owns a small ammo company. His company received some of the Bosnian primers about six weeks ago. I fear the Biden-Harris group of idiots is going to slap import restrictions on primers soon. Perfect.
