Wife loves my Blued 10/22LVT, when I bought it I wanted stainless but none are available (for a resonable price) or for any price now. Wife says if you find one you can buy it for "me". OK. So yesterday I get a notice GrabAGun has 10/22 Classic V's in stock. Polished 20" stainless, black walnut stock, engraved Ruger emblem. Showed a pick to the wife and she say "did you order one? Why not?" Who am I to argue with the wife. Now to find a stainless scope...
Pics to follow when I get it .

You cant beat that for compromise , I have the stainless Target model I really like it, But the way 22 LR is I have a little over a thousand rounds but it is a safe queen until we get this ammo thing fixed. I haven't even seen 22's in the last couple of years, On shelves saw a few bricks at Gun shows 85.00 I told the Guy he could choke on the darn things before I would pay that.
Mine will put 6 shots under a nickel at 50 yds, I thought I fired 5 but when counting it was 6
Not to bad for these older eyes.

My LVT put 20rds inside a dime at 50yds using a Weaver 10x target scope. Hopefully this gun will do the same. First thing is a fluff and buff of the trigger group and a poly recoil buffer. Interesting she had little desire to shoot 2 years ago. Decided she wanted to take a 2 day NRA basic pistol course our club was offering. So while I have other pistols she could use I bought her a Ruger MKIII for the course. Last day of the course I was shooting a Hunter Rifle Silhouette match and talked her into shooting the last relay. 20 targets, 4 distances 25/50/75/100yds, and despite "not wanting to embarrass herself" she cleaned them listening to my directions of hold over/hold off. Needless to say she was HOOKED! Goes to show if you want to convert someone "take them shooting". As far as .22 ammo goes I just picked up 4000rds of CCI STD for $40/brick a price I can live with.

Been looking and reading up on scope choices, leaning toward a a Mueller mapv451440s 4.5x14 silver finish. If I was setting it up for me I'd go with a Weaver fixed 15 power target. The wife likes to shoot around 10x, this would give her more power in the future if she wanted it. My LVT now has a 6x18 on it but I've shot out to 240yds with it.

In my book a 10-22 (esp if I could put a can on it!) would be one of the best guns in the world. A .30-06, 870 in 12ga, and a 9mm covers every base for 1000's of miles around me! Throw in a .375 H&H and every base is covered everywhere... (Don't tell my wife I said that!)

If I were going to get another 10/22 (for either my wife or myself), I think it would be the Model 1265 blued with the walnut Mannlicher stock. I just think that's one of the classiest styled 10/22 Ruger has ever made.

Ya, some the distributor exclusives are REALLY NICE. I'm glad Ruger let's others design limited run rifles people want. Don't think I'd ever buy a basic $200 10/22 carbine again.
