I want to get back into archery, and cost is the big factor. Some experience from my youth, not much with compound bows. I'm going to go with Mathews since I've heard nothing but good and that's what the local archery hub has...something in Mathews' Mission line. So brand new I'm looking at $300-400 for just the bow, and then there's arrows, broadheads, a quiver, etc.

I found a private sale of a Mathews Switchback XT with two pairs of arms from 40-70 draw weight, a couple dozen arrows, some broadheads, a quiver, a sight, and a release for $550. Owner's arthritis won't let him shoot anymore. Seems like a deal if everything's in good condition. Thoughts?

If the bow is in good shape. That is a heck of a deal for a great bow. If possible take it to a pro shop and have it looked over.
