I have a chance to get a BPS and I was wondering from anyone who owns one, are they strong enough for trap and sporting clays? I'm comfortable with the bottom load bottom eject setup. I just want to know if it can handle a steady diet of 2-3/4 shells, both target loads and '00 buck, for years to come.

A pump is usually not considered ideal for Sporting, but good for trap. If you like it, it will do. A BPS will outlive you and your grandchildren if you take decent care of it. And that's shooting heavy loads. I don't think they come any tougher. I don't like the bottom loading, but I do not think there is a better pump gun designed or being made.

Is the gun of sufficient quality to last?
Absolutely
Is it the best choice for targets?
Not really
Will it handle target loads?
All day long
IF your main use is clays, get a different gun.
IF it is hunting, especially waterfowl, perfect gun
