They have no Treasurer???
In 2008 they spent a total of $3.14million on program expenses, but paid Helmke a salary of $250,000???
Sounds crooked, even discounting their stated and actual goals.

This is great NEWS, but what PLAN to support RKBA is being offered other than to "pass it on". Let's get something with more substance or this is just another General thread.

How 'bout everyone reading this post it to 3 other forums they're on with the same request?

Can we come up with a Letter to the Editor to send to every paper around?

Why isn't this on FOX?

And let's keep the clever gloating and commentary out of it. THATs appropriate for General, not Activism.

Maybe I'm dense, but I didn't comprehend exactly how much salary and compensation go to the 15-20 or so people IN ADDITION to the CEO who run and work for the organization, and the two that are one the board that are compensated. Does anyone else find this info missing, or hard to determine?

Remember that promise to the localities in PA; passing the lost or stolen ordinances and if sued the Brady bunch would pick up the tab in legal expenses?

Their real strips are showing now, black and white prison stripes that it.

Bloomy's bunch will pick up where these people leave off.....sad but you know some one will fill the void.

Who runs the place? lol

It would appear that some contributions didn't go toward advancing the cause, but rater into investments (stocks, bonds or whatever) that were expected to provide them with an interest/dividend based income. However the 2008 recession left them with a loss instead.

If they didn't have bad luck they wouldn't have any luck at all... :uhoh:

Chief Executive : Paul Helmke, President
Compensation*: $249,555

You know, being unemployed for awhile, if were offered this position, I would be hard pressed to turn it down. When times get tough, people can be bought.

And I mean this in a bad way. That seems an exorbitant amount for an organization so small. It makes me wonder if they had to "buy" their president or if that is how much money it takes to lead such a despicable organization.

Amazing that the media gives equal or greater exposure to the Brady Bunch with a 15 person staff, versus the 4,000,000 member NRA.

Uses of Funds as a % of Total Expenses

Programs: 79% Fund Raising: 16% Administrative: 5%

Total income $2,921,536
Program expenses $3,141,984
Fund raising expenses 628,005
Administrative expenses 219,106

Total expenses $3,989,095
Expenses in Excess of Income (1,067,559)
Beginning net assets 3,013,211

Ending net assets 1,945,652
Total liabilities 450,288
Total assets $2,395,940

As Nelson from 'The Simpsons' would say, "Ha ha."

But on a serious note I wouldn't doubt some wealthy celebrity, such as Rosie O'Donnell or Susan Sarandon would pick up the tab to bail out their debt or champion their cause. These guys just don't go away that easy.

I read an article a while back about the Brady Center. In the article it said that on the Brady Centers website they stated that they would not sell personal information. Suprise. They sold personal information.

What would you expect from an organization that was founded to subvert our constitutional rights....honesty?

Of course they're going to go back on their words, use their coffers to allow members to live in luxury instead of a fair day's pay for a fair day's work, etc.

Fortunately this just shows more people that they are a snake in the grass as opposed to something worth looking up to. The only thing that worries me is now anti-firearms sentiment is disturbingly high at a societal level....I've even seen people who'd like to learn to shoot, but are too scared of the thing to go out and do it. That's saddening to say the least.

Since no one seems to be interested in improving upon the original plan of action there much not be enough interest to keep this thread open.
