I am buying a 22 Hornet and will be loading all of my ammo. I discovered that 22 Hornet Brass is getting a little scarce. I can get Winchester now, but would have to wait a bit for Remington. Most manufacturers don't even produce 22 Hornet brass. There is some once fired brass offered on Gunbrokers.com and new Winchester brass. So, my question...Is Remington brass significantly better than Winchester? It is about 20% higher in price. Would it be worth the wait? The once-fired says I can get either Reminigton or Winchester. Has anyone out there had experience with buying once-fired brass? What should I watch out for? I have bought new Remington Brass in the past for my .223 and it is good quality. In fact, it was easier to load then my reclaimed brass from multiple sources. So, I am leaning toward waiting. And how about Privi-Partizan brass?? Your help is appreciated. TOM

All brass made by the major American companies is good quality for reloading. You may develop a preference for one or the other due to slight differences in thickness or the particular load you use after a while but that depends on the individual.

I use mixed headstamp once fired brass all the time. I have had no issues with it. But I've also been the one picking them up and culling the bad ones. No matter what you are going to have to full length size and trim them.

I cannot vouch for current production 22 Hornet brass, but 10 plus years ago, I did not see a difference between WW and R-P. I still have a stash of new cases on hand so no need to purchase any new.

Life of the cases is better if you can neck size the cases.
