So I was able to put a few rounds (older Barnaul 123gr HP) through my Atlantic Arms model AA POL47. Unfortunately it was at an indoor range, so I was restricted to 25 yards.

I was quite happy with it when I received it. As I didn't opt for the "premium" version, I was half expecting a rough stock. However, it's not bad at all and has very little "character".

The metal is very nice. I'm more of an AR guy but also being a lover of mil-surp, I didn't know what to expect. Except for the buttstock plate, the finish on the metal parts is perfect.

The trigger... wow. It's smooth and light. Nothing like any military surplus I've experienced. There's no creep, it's very light and smooth.
Now that I've put a few rounds through this rifle, I'm even more impressed.

Overall, I'm quite happy with this AK. I don't know if this polish Ak is a good representative of your typical AK, but if it is, I'd have to say that the AK is OK with me.

25 yards, firing about a shot a second while standing.

Beautiful looking piece. I hope you can take it and see what it can do outdoors.

Thanks.

I'm looking forward to shooting with it outside some. Between the sights and those florescent lights, I have difficulty getting a good sight picture.

I forgot to mention the magazines. Mine came with a new Korean made mag and it appears to work alright. However, being this AK was make with a Polish kit, I decided to buy a couple Polish magazines just to keep it... more Polish-er. :)

Thanks for the write-up; I have been thinking lately about getting another AK to go with my SA85M Hungarian underfolder and these ones from Atlantic Arms look to have pretty decent quality to them.

Congrats. That is a good looking AK.

I just installed an ALG trigger on my SLR. It is worth the money if your looking for a trigger upgrade.
