What is the trick? I have disassembled dozens of Brooms since 1962! I have the mag follower and spring out. I have the hammer cocked and the safety in the firing position. I have the take down latch fully depressed. The inner assembly just won't budge! The gun is a really nice original that I just got for myself. Very minty. Don't want to force it or scratch it. Is there something about the 1930 that is different? I have tried with the safety on or off and with the bolt in the gun and removed. Nothing happens, the inner mechanism is dead frozen to the frame? What is the procedure when this happens? I suspect the gun was forced back together somewhat, but there is no sign of that, no hammer marks etc.

If the rocker coupling (the little c-shaped piece) was put back in backwards you're going to need an experienced gunsmith to get that gun apart. The gun can be reassembled with the coupling backwards but it can't be disassembled once it's put together that way.
Thanks Commy! Appreciate that comment. I don't think that is the problem though because the gun functions normally and fine. Very smooth action, trigger, safety, bolt, magazine, all works fine and the gun shoots fine. My understanding of the backwards rocker is that the gun totally locks up, and nothing at all works as well as that it cannot be disassembled?

You're no doubt right. I enjoyed tinkering with my Broomies but, as simple as they are mechanically, they could have some frustratingly mysterious problems.

I just got a Bolo and I've been practicing taking it apart and putting it back together again. Not that hard when you understand the tricky bits.
