Browning website or catalog for 2011 show several forms of a 22lr 1911 and even of a full size .45 1911 wich seems only to be sold in a set with the .22

Anyone?

Isn't it scaled down to something like 80% the size of a traditional 1911? If it is, that ruins it for me right there.

Back before Christmas I was in a shop when the Browning rep came in to show the gun off. I got to run a coupla mags through it. Pretty neat. It's about the size of the old Llama 22, maybe just a hair larger. Alloy frame and slide make the weight just right for a trail or camp pistol.

I am planning on getting one for my daughter. I figure 80% size would be perfect for a younger girls hand size and the 22 is about perfect.

The 80% appeals to me. My big decision is the "full" size or the "commander" sized or both.

Hopefully more reliable than most of the .22 ammo we buy nowadays.

Kind of plain looking. I don't like the GI look. Hopefully they plan on making nicer looking models.
