I have a Browning A500 recoil version in 12-gauge. Beautiful gun that shoots very well. Except that it just will not shoot Remington ammo.
The firing pin appears to dent the primers hard enough, but they don't allways fire. I have recycled the non-bangers and they do eventually go off. Took the A500 to a smith and he found nothing wrong with it, and he advised that Remington's primers were known to be harder than all others.
The shotty shoots many other brands of shells just fine, so perhaps the smith is correct: Just hard Remington primers. I have tried various lots of Remy shells and they seem to all have the same issue in this gun but work just fine in my 870.
Anybody ever heard of such about the Remington primers?
How could this be fixed? Titanium firing pin?
