Hello everyone,
I have one of these and I am debating whether to sell it or not. It is a great-looking gun in 99% condition, but I'm more of a collector and I inherited this along with many other guns.

It is a "Limited Edition Grade I" with 26'' barrel 3'' chamber .410 Bore.
Now blue book says there were only 6000 of these produced.

Does anyone think that these will eventually gain any solid collector value, or should I sell it and save up for the legendary Winchester model 42, which this model is based off of?

Thanks
~Al~

They are of collector value now. Look on Gunbroker and you will see how much they are selling for. What you describe is worth much $$$.

I wouldn't let go of the Browning 42 even when I acquired a Winchester 42.
Both of these little guns are great fun to shoot and own.
Skeet with an elegant little .410 is truly a joy.
For what it's worth, I believe the Browning 42's are selling for $900 and any Winchester 42 will be offered at $1500 and up. The best value around is the Browning BPS .410 Hunter. They sell for less than $600 new and come with Invector chokes.

I see. I know they are expensive I looked at some of the GB auctions. Thats so strange since its a recent manufacture. But i guess maybe one day they could go up in value, because there were only 6000 made. Maybe, thats what I will hope for.

It's a great little gun for the money. I would just shoot it and enjoy it. I don't think these will have any real collector value, certainly not like the original 42s. A basic Win 42 field gun starts about about $1900 and anything with an original vent or solid rib in good condition gets out of sight very quickly. I mentioned in a post a few weeks ago about a fiend of mine who has an original 42 in the box, never assembled, deluxe version, skeet choked, and asking $17,000 for it.

I agree, it shoots great and indeed is that "little gun that shoots great." The Winchesters are expensive, but hopefully I will be able to get my hands on one eventually.
