Yesterday was the first day of muzzleloader season . It was not a very good day for hunting . The wind was blowing really hard . I didn't even see a squirrel .

I did see a good sign at my treestand . A fresh rub .

I shot a nice one from that same stand 2 years ago . Hoping for the same this season .

It's always nice to find fresh sign near your stand. Good luck and keep us posted.

While a fresh rub always gets one's blood going and adds excitement to the hunt, the only thing is shows is that a male deer was there. Unfortunately, it don't mean he'll be back or that he is still alive after the onset of hunting season. Hope for your sake he is. Good luck the rest of the season.
