I have an inertia "hammer" type bullet puller that I've been using but wanted to know if there is some type of bullet pulling die that I can mount in my reloading press to pull .38sp lead bullets. I have a Dillon 650XL press and also a Lee Turret press. Is there some die that I can put in my press and pull the bullets rather than having to use the "hammer" puller?

I am pretty new to reloading, but to the best of my knowledge there is not.

I am sure that a more experienced person will be able to confirm or deny my comment shortly.

You're thinking of 'collet' type pullers.

They are more expensive but can pull more bullets quicker. I've never used them. You'll have to do some web searching; I'm pretty sure RCBS makes them and some others as well.

I think they work best with jacketed bullets, but may work with lead as well.

Good luck.

I just beat them loose with my inertial.

Hornady is much less prone to damaging the bullet than the RCBS. Neither however is meant for lead heads - it'll work on some head shapes but probably mess up the bullet pretty badly.

Bullet pulling..

I have used RCBS collet type bullet puller. It can be used in your turret press. You will need the puller die+a .35 collet, to pull your .38 bullets.
I pulled over 1300 .40 S&W loads recently+it works well.
Check MidwayUSA for availability..Bill.;)
