In an attempt to purchase reloading components at reduced prices I am attempting to find sources for over-runs or "seconds" to help keep the costs of reloading lower.

Should good information to attain these components become available I'd like to share this information with all reloaders.

Either pistol or rifle bullets can be of benefit to all.

Even all reloading components that would be of benefit to fellow reloaders would be appeciated.

If you have links to such sources can you please post them for the benefit of all looking for the same?

Thanks for any feedback.

I sometimes buy Nosler seconds but the thing is that Nosler products are so overpriced that their seconds many times are just as expensive as firsts by another manufacturer. Also, once in pricing Nosler "overruns" I found that I could get the same thing from MidwayUSA for a bit less money when shipping was taken into consideration.

I shoot mostly lead bullets in handguns and I do not care for plated bullets. I find plated bullet to be very little savings over jacketed bullets these days so what good?

You may have to call Shooters pro shop to get an accurate inventory. The website doesn't always get updated. I have used Nosler seconds for years and they work every bit as good as the firsts at half the price.

The Nosler seconds/blems appear overpriced to me. Motana Gold bulllets provides excellent quality and value.
In those days long gone (less than 10 years) I used to pick up seconds from Star Bullets in Indianapolis, IN. The best buys were the 10 lb boxes at $1.00 per lb - some misshaped bases but good enough for steel plate shoots. Ujnfortunately Star is no longer in business.

I have shot several thousand Hornady 9mm "blems". They do fine for IDPA. I notice the quality has been getting worse every batch I buy. The first time a few were missing their base closures, the second more were and some of those had funny shaped noses. This lot, all are missing the base closure and a lot of them have funny shaped noses. I use the worst ones for short range practice, the others are still ok for IDPA.

I don't know about rifle blems. I am not a blaster, I load carefully and shoot for accuracy; I don't want to be guessing whether that 7 on the target was me or the bullet.

The Sierra outlet store is located at the Sierra Bullet manufacturing plant just off Hwy 50 in Sedalia Missouri, it's open 9-5 Monday thru Friday, their phone number is 800-223-8799. Call before you go and ask for the outlet store; they can tell you what bullets they have available and possibly save you a wasted trip.
I haven't been in several years, but I try to plan a stop there anytime I pass through the KC area. A word of warning however, take cash and lock up your credit cards, otherwise you're likely to "save" so much money you might not be able to afford gas for the drive home!

Search for "blemished bullets" at MidwayUSA.
A while back I bought a supply of them in .357"
Supposedly the color wasn't right.

They shot just fine for target practice.

Thanks guys, I will follow up on these leads.

Always nice to have folks who share info.

I will try to report back any deals I run across.

OK, Heres the update... some places where I felt I found some of the lower prices and I'm sure there are a lot more out there I've overlooked:

www.hi-techammo.co
www.grafs.com
www.natchezss.com
www.wideners.com

Realize this isn't the item by item listing I'd hoped to show but there are just too many places with too many calibers to list them all in a reasonable space!

I have learned there are an incredible amount of bullets out there that are within my budget, so to speak. I am going to keep visiting these sites regularly to keep up on prices and supply.

Feel free to add to this list anytime you find a good dealer/distributor.

Once again, thanks to all for jump-starting me on the path to finding more ecomonically priced "plinking" components.
