Ryan is now saying he is open to a vote to ban them. The thing is that these are easy to make home made BGS. The web has many videos on people who have made them from a piece of aluminum in the garage and their stock and grip on the gun. so if they ban them what happens to those that people have bought? The law as written now would ban any improvement to a trigger that makes it fire faster. This could ban all trigger mods.

I have no desire to have a bumpstock but I worry about banning gun accessories after a tragedy.

And it seems like a lot of conservatives are ok with banning them.

I resist all slippery slopes, the bottom is always a complete ban. First bump stocks, then apex triggers.

We've got several threads on bumpfire stocks and legalities/practicality. Let's try to consolidate.

And to answer the one question: Nobody knows "what would happen to those already purchased" until the text of a law actually was written.

Let's hope we never see that.
