Burning The Flag

What do you think of people who burn the flag in protest? As much as I believe in free speech I cant think of anything more disrespectful than that. I still dont think it should be illegal though. A shirt I saw recently sparked my thoughts about this. Where do you stand?

This is APS material but, since I never go there let me say that no legitimate expression of protest against the government should be barred. If they can start by taking our right to protest they'll end up by taking our means to resist.

..."Better to burn the flag while wrapped in the Constitution than to burn the Constitution while wrapped in the flag."

While burning the flag of our nation shows an extremely poor sense of judgment, I feel that it is important to remember that the flag itself is a symbol, not the actual Republic nor the principles on which it was founded.

Others may choose to regard symbols in a different light.
