What are your feelings on buying used accessories - lights, holsters, mags, folders etc?

Where do you go to find good deals online besides THR?

Buying used is not a problem when I can put hands on the item. If the quality/condition is good and the price is right go for it. That said, since I like to put hand on the item in question I do not buy used items online. I mostly find them by chance through my buddies who have the same interests.

I've bought all sorts of used stuff from estate auctions, the Gunboards.com Trader, and gunbroker. If there's some worry it could've suffered damage and there isn't the usual "absolutely fine condition, some honest wear from use" disclaimer, I might ask first if it's an unfamiliar seller, but otherwise... Parts are parts, and guns are durable goods. It's hard to fool an educated buyer and harder yet to sell junk and get away with it. Besides, usually somebody sells because either they need the money or don't like what they had, both of which are good for the buyer.

Most of my firearms are "previously owned", but accessories I generally buy new. My exception is a local pawn/gun shop that is ok with me bring back what doesn't work.

Buying used off of forums I look at the seller's post count, time of membership, search the username... Some forums provide itrader feedback... Castboolits.com has a Straight Shooters & Deadbeats board.

I'm careful but have no problem buying used. Especially guns. Most of mine are previously owned, but I've always bought them at shops. In Kalifornistan all gun sales have to go through an FFL anyway.

For holsters I will buy a used one.

If I can put my hands on it.

I recently found a like new Crossbreed Supertuck at a pawn shop for $10

I had reformed one before with great results

So, I reformed this one to fit my recent pick up an M&P 45C

300 degrees in the oven for 2 minutes, and I have a great holster set up for $10
