byf 43 P38

Any ideas what a fair price might be for a very clean, Mauser, byf 43, P38 with all numbers matching, original bakelite grips, original finish in probably 95% condition? The gun must have been a bring back as there are no import markings. I've heard that there are quite a few of these out there in good, original condtion. What is the value and the likelyhood that it will increase?

The imported models have been going for about $350-400. No import mark should add a few bucks and original condition will determine price from there. I would think the right buyer would likely pay $450-500 for 95% original condition and no import.

You are talking about a steel frame war issue. This is not a post war alloy frame gun. You could be looking at $600 - $900 range.

I would suggest going to the Walther Forums and talk to some of the Walther collectors.
