Renewed mine back in the spring of this year with an address change. The new license arrived with part of the old address and new address combined on the new license. Got it straightened out with another form and a couple phone calls to the ATF. I voided the old one and put it with the paperwork in the file. Should I send it back and keep a copy or just leave it as is. Thanks all.

Thanks. It went from renewal with address change request to new license with old address to address change form with new license having new street address but with previous town. Called ATF agent and he said he’d send a corrected license without me filing another application. Always have had positive interactions with him.

Yeah, just shred or file away the old one. Sending it back will likely cause confusion on their end and possibly result in unintended consequences.

I have had the same experiences with the ATF people. I never met one I didn't like, and I met a lot of them when working with Les. Especially After he got his class III license.

The post office changed my mailing address. No I did not move! They said my address had to be "standardized" or I could no longer use "Click-N-Ship" to print my own postage. Go figure. ATF had no problem issuing me a new license. This is the second time in 21 years that the post office changed my address. Maybe they want me gone? :)

The same thing happened to me years ago. I had just received my FFL when the P.O. changed my address. This was right before the SHOT Show. I went to the ATFs booth and they straightened everything out on the spot.

Yeah I went through a similar issue when the post office changed our address here about twenty years ago .... we scrambled to change Trusts, driver's licenses, CWPs and the C&R and after all of that we ended up having an issue with county property taxes on the buildings and our vehicles.

The Post Office claimed they had to do it when nearby acres were all re-zoned residential and then our road was supposed to be taken over by the county and then paved.

Twenty years later neither has happened. The road is still private and it has not been paved. We're kinda happy about that but we know it is coming one of these days. In the meantime, the address was changed twenty years ago ... oh, and they said it had something to do with the 911 Emergency Call system and the Fire Department.

Who knows.

Can't imagine the fun in changing all of that. When we moved last year it was a major hassle getting our carry permit address changed since they are issued by county.
