Greetings friends, new member Mousiecat here. I'm starting this thread because I need some help. Here's the problem:

I Just bought an Enfield Mk IV, No. 1 conversion to 45-70. Seller said that it had some feeding problems and might need some work on the magazine. That was a slight understatement as the magazine is totally unmodified. So, here is my specific starter problem that I'm throwing out to the group. I need:

1. A fully modified conversion magazine ready to start shootin'.

2. Plans or directions to enable me to do the modifications.

3. An expert who knows this subject and can shed a little more light.

That's about it for now. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Emails are most welcome. Love to talk about conversions as I also have a Siamese Mauser that I want to convert to a 45-70 or perhaps a 45-90 if there's room.

It depends upon who made the conversion. See if any identification is on the rifle, stamped or otherwise. That is the party you need to contact.

Special Interest Arms talked about a 45-70 conversion, but I'm not sure if they ever made one. Here is a link to their manual for the 45acp conversion: http://www.specialinterestarms.com/manual_opt.pdf

I hope you didn't get snookered on that sale. Are you sure it safely chambers and fires a 45-70 cartridge, even if you get the magazine to work?
