Gosh almighty I just realized that I have quite some guns that I bought and haven't even fired yet. I guess you can say that I've been on a buying spree these past few months. The reason?

I guess its because the laws in California are so that next year there is a possiblity that I won't be able to buy what I want. Or the year after that, and it goes on and on with no end. Not that it'll happen, but an impending sense of whatever is to come won't be any good.

Like everyone else I dream about having a Marlin camp gun, or a nice Remington LTR to play with some day in the future as funds permit. The thing is the future doesn't look bright for gunowners in California so I have this urge to buy all those guns I really want now.
Am I alone? Who has found themsleves on a buying spree?

It ain't just Californians...

I haven't yet shot my Krag, my Martini, my Mosin M44g, my Mauser HSc or my Swede.

My buying spree has calmed down in recent months...now '01, I was a 1 a month guy w/ new handguns plus a few I bought private party...I just had to do my part :D
Actually, right now, I'm trying to make room on my CC to pick up a couple more on my short list

Oh, in '02, I did manage to get all my guns dirty at some time or another :D

Now that I've discovered the MilSurp "loophole", I'll be adding a bunch of old rifles this year...us Left Coast-ers still have the ten day wait, but can buy more than one C&R rifle a month:neener:

On the handgun "front", I'm looking to buy another 9mm to add to my lone semi(CZ 75B): I've narrowed it to a Ruger P89 or S&W 910 or Police trade-in in SS. Next, I have to get my first 1911 .45 ACP!

The SA 1911-A1 that I bought 3 weeks ago hasn't been fired yet- but it is loaded and in my workstation cupboard as I type.

If some slimeball decides to try a home invasion tonight, I might get to fire it! :D

madkiwi

(seriously, we are hoping to get to the range this weekend, I have 500 rounds of S&B for practice)

No, I don't.

And after this weekend's Sacramento Area THR Shoot, we won't have any excuses for having virgin guns!!! :D

HANSOLO You can buy all the rifles you want. One gun a mounth only applies to handguns. The wife took the HGST so we could get around the 1 handgun a mounth garbage. What do you mean by the CR loophole?

I don't live in Kali, but I have 2 I haven't fired yet...

The Mosin-Nagant M-44...No indoor range near me will let me shoot any rifle bigger thant 22Rimfire.

Lyman Black Powder 50 Flintlock Trade Rifle....no local shops have any 4Fg blackpowder in stock.

Nope. All fired. Just took the Makarov out for the first time in years and fired it to try out some different recoil springs. It's a little beast.

The only guns in the house that I haven't personally fired are...oh, wait--I DID get to fire my wife's duty Beretta 92 last weekend. So that just leaves her 342PD backup. One day...

Yes, after I exiled my AR15 clone, I bought a Remington 7600 (pump) in .308. I was thinking of having it cut down to carbine length, but I haven't gotten around to it.

Of course we do. I'm sure most THRers do. I suspect that many of us have guns that won't fit into our safes either. Maybe a public armory like they had before the revolution wasn't so bad of an idea after all. Build it right next to the police station and we can store all our "overflow" there.

I haven't yet shot my ........ or my Swede.

:what: Someone has a Swede that hasn't been fired by them yet...

Tamera - I demand that you go right out and rectify this little issue immediately... :D

Back on topic....

Everything I own has been shot by me and a few others... I can't have a gun and not shoot it.... Still to new to this whole thang.

I FINALLY got to the range last week to christen my Tikka after letting it languish since I got it in November.

Not that it did me any REAL good since it doesn't have sights and I haven't gotten around to getting a scope and rings yet. :neener:

But it did feel good to test it out and my GF who isn't really into rifles was very favorably impressed by how it handled and the recoil of .30-06.

That was the only one in the collection that hadn't been fired.

Yeah, my Ohio Class SSBN Submarine is in the pool .. haven't had a chance to fire her yet either.

(Or about a dozen or so others I in my collection.)

Sometimes just having them brings satisfaction (old ones in mint condition).
