CALNRA: 9/13/2007 5:00 AM

The legislature has adjourned for the remainder of 2007. (Your NRA-ILA State Liaison, Ed Worley, was at the Capitol on the last day until 3:20 AM.) Bills that failed to pass the legislature have been turned into 2 year bills, meaning they can again become active when the legislature reconvenes in January, 2008. For more information on bills that were stalled, visit:

Firearm-related bills on the Governor's desk:

AB 821 Lead Ammo Ban / Condor Bill - OPPOSE

AB 1471 Microstamping - OPPOSE
http://calnra.com/legs.shtml?year=2007&summary=ab1471

PLEASE CONTACT THE GOVERNOR AND URGE A VETO ON AB 821 AND AB 1471. In California, the Governor must actively veto legislation sent to him within 30 days to prevent it from becoming law. If he ignores the bill, it becomes law by default at the end of that period.

AB 1645 Katrina Protections Bill - SUPPORT

PLEASE CONTACT THE GOVERNOR AND URGE HIS SIGNATURE ON AB 1645.

Contact tools have been provided at the above URLs.

FYI, at this time, NRA has already passed 1 pro-gun bill into law:

AB 854 PUBLICATIONS - SUPPORT
