Can a Crossman red dot be used for both pistol and rifle?

For a Christmas present, Im I'm looking at the Crossman 1322 multipump that comes with the removable shoulder stock. Like this one http://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Crosman_P1322_With_Shoulder_Stock_Black/3608/7283



I'm wondering if the cheap Crossman red dot can be used in both the pistol and rifle configuration?

Or is it like a scope that has eye relief for EITHER pistol or rifle, but not both?

Does anyone know?

I's a red dot. No magnification, no eye relief. you can use it on either.

For $12.95 does it matter??

I doubt you will be very happy with it, no matter what you put it on.

RC, I have that same cheap red dot on the 1377 and it's worked well in the 10-30 yrd range.

While i wouldn't say its of high quality, at $13 I am quite happy with it.

I'm not even sure if the recipient will use the red dot but for $25 for the dot and mounts I figure what thr heck.
