0828181230~2.jpg Hello all, im a new member here and looking for a little help... About 7 years ago a friend of mine passed away and after the service his son handed me a coffee can full of gas and gun parts...He told me at that time it was a FN Browning 1910 chambered in .380.... I brought it home, took the parts out of the gas, cleaned them and then browned them...when i was done, the parts were placed in bags and ended up in the closest for later assembly....7 years later they came back out and last night i finally put them together.... Durring the process something was off but i couldnt put my finger on what it was, then it dawned on me....Some of the parts didnt look right for a fn.... I have a suspicion at to what it might be but looking for help to confirm...I know its a .32 acp and not a .380... Im including pics of the assembled pistol along with all the.markings i could locate on the barrel as well as the slide and frame...Thank you in advance for any info you might be able to provide. Yes, all numbers match.

I can’t tell from the photos, is that script a fancy DWM? If so, it’s *likely* a DWM copy of the FN 1910. It’s a cool gun and on my list of 32 ACP pistols to buy...

Did not Mauser take over DWM in about 1937? Have a gunsmith check out your assembly and make sure it's ok. Excellent collectors gun.

Well, im far from a gunsmith but have been working on firearms for about 30 years... I can tell you that all three of the safety functions work the way they were designed, and it wont even charge unless they are all in place as designed...Once properly engaged, the firing pin locked the way it should, and disengaged when the mag was removed...I can also say it properly chambered the round and went bang when i pulled the trigger without blowing up in my hand lol...

I just cross refrenced with known luger markings and it appears that its from the b group which would put it about mid way thru the production from what i can find

This is the only photo I have ever seen of a DWM 7.65mm. pistol. It was in an article by Lt. Col. Bill Brophy entitled: "Japanese Military Arms Part 1 Pistols" in Gun Collector's Digest Volume 1.

Really not much info out there about them, and not many photo's either...Ive spend alot of time over the last 2 days digging and searching and pretty much ive been able to find is the story on how they came into production. I know my friend only paid $75 for it with the belief that it was an old browning... Maybe if he had known what it really was he wouldnt have dropped it in a can of gas lol...God bless him....RIP
