I have been reloading for a year now with a setup my father gave to me. He shot and reloaded .308 for his M1A. I have a full length sizer, seater And a primer pocket swager. But I can anyone tell me what is pictured below?

Thanks in advance!

Looks like a Black thing, setting on a Woodgrain thing, in front of a Green thing.

Can we get better close-up pictures?

Or maybe it even says something on it??

It is a primer seating die. You are missing the rod that runs up into the die. It will either have a large or small primer cup on it. Also you need the correct shell holder that fits on top, that the primer cup goes through, to press the primer into the primer pocket.

Thanks, makes sense now. I use the auto bench primer he gave me.

And they actually work very well. I just prefer not to touch my primers.

That is the same exact priming die tool I use. All that is missing is the rod and replacable tip/cup. I have 2 rods so I don't have to change tips from large to small. RCBS still sells them, and I personally think they are just about the best priming tool made. Once you adjust the die you can seat one primer after the other to the exact same depth without having to rely on feel.

Besides precision seating, any other benefit to using it instead of my automatic bench setup? I have the rods and cup for it as well

Sure is easy on the hands. If you don't want to keep it let me know. I have the CH4D & love it.

Try this for poops & giggles take 10 primers & soak em in oil of your choice for a week , then take out wipe em clean , seat em & strike em .

What happened ?????

The leverage of the press seats the primer so you dont have to use a lot of arm strength/muscle. Primers can be crushed very easly if the tool is not adjusted correctly. I like mine. :)

Sorry, but it looks like a few people in this forum eat more carrots than you do.
I could say something about braille reloading equipment but I won't.

(Sorry, the devil made me do it) :D
