Can I change the Yugo SKS?

I HATE the whole grenade launcher w/sight on the front of the Yugo SKS, but otherwise want one, considering price and quality. Is there a practical way to remove the grenade launcher setup, and leave a "clean looking" muzzle? Thanks !
