I was wondering if anybody may know an approximate value of a .41 Smith and Wesson revolver . I have tried researching this particular firearm to see what it might be selling for out there but have not seen the exact model. I have seen others similar but the specifications not exact - such as different barrel lenghts, not ported, fluted cylinders , etc. I have searched " Guns America " and others sites but have not come across this exact gun. Is it rare ? Below are the specs .

Smith and Wesson Model 657, . 41 Magnum, pre-lock , stainless steel

6.5 inch factory ported barrel ( most of the one I have seen are 7.5 inch- some are ported and some are not )

Full under lug

Unfluted cylinder ( have seen both fluted and unfluted )

I have the original box and all the manuals the firearm came with

Any help is greatly appreciated . Thanks .

there is an auction on gunbroker with a current bid of $700 and it states the dealer's reserve price has been met. This means the auction will close at that price unless somebody bids higher. The gun is stainless in excellent condition (used) ..hope this helps you

sounds like a "performance center" gun.

if so it is not common.

someone will come along with a price but my WAG is that if this is all correct it is worth over 9 bills or more.

the PC guns are sought after by a small but enthusiastic group so prices vary more than on other guns.

Thanks for the help

I bought the gun pre-owned and I have never fired it and it is in beautiful condition. Regarding it being a Performance Center I dont think it is . I believe there is usually an indication of such on the box , which I have , but I could be wrong . Thanks .

"Retail" runs from $650 to $750 kind of range. You obviously would not get that if you sold it to a FFL dealer for resale, but I suspect you know that. It is not a collector gun, but the box is always nice to have.
