muzzleloader: tc black diamond 50 cal
scope: bushnell sportview... 3x9x50 model 79-3950M.. already have it, never used, cost me $0

can i get a set of mounts and use this on the tc or would i be better off getting a bushnell banner 3-9X40 Circle-X 71-3944. im a newbie to scopes, but it looks like this one is made specifically for muzzleloaders..... its on ebay for 56.99+ship...thanks for any help

Sure you can. The question is can you hunt with it? In Colorado here is what they say.

"During the muzzle-loading firearm seasons for deer, elk, pronghorn, bear, and
moose the following additional restrictions apply:
1. Propellent/Powders: The use of pelletized powder systems and
smokeless powder are prohibited.
2. Projectiles: Sabots are prohibited. For the purposes of this regulation
cloth patches are not sabots.
3. Loading: Firearms must load from the muzzle. Firearms which can be
loaded from the breech are prohibited.
4. Sights: Any muzzle-loading rifle or smoothbore musket with any sighting
device other than open or “iron” sights is prohibited."

So the final question should be does my state allow scopes on muzzleloaders. Search the state Department of Wildlife page for the info. I think most states don't restrict your sights like Colorado does.
