On Friday, 7/16, The Second Amendment Sisters and New Jersey Coalition for Self Defense held a rally to counter the MMM's Pink RV which was originally listed on their web site to be in Trenton on the same day. Instead, they were hiding up in Newark. Our rally had about 60 people in attendance as well as attracting the notice of numerous passers-by.
This article is from the Saturday Trenton Times, which covers the whole state yet had no mention of the MMM activities in Newark. It should be noted that it was somewhat edited. For example, what was paraphrased in the first paragraph was the statement that this country does not have a gun problem; it has a violence problem. Also, while Lott's study numbers were discussed along with the National Crime Victims Survey, they chose to just mention the NCVS numbers.
I think the the last paragraph is very telling. Instead of coming up with a well thought out rebuttal to the statements, the anti-gun politicritter chose to make a sarcastic comment that would have made any stand-up comic proud. He is obviously one of the people being referred to by the speaker.
