Can this brass be loaded?

For $16-50 she figured it was a good deal and slung rounds all over the paper. I tried and I'm usually very good with a revolver and shot gunned them. My 5 reloads i put in there for the sticky cylinder test grouped fine and her 357 ammo grouped fine. It was also 158gr ammo 38spl ammo so i instructed her to find blazer or something a bit better for a buck or two more and in a lower weight.

I've shot some old, and new herters ammo. Spares from one of my buddies that moved here. It went bang and shot ok.

I also had a couple boxes of Winchester 240jsp .44 mag rounds that had those cannulars...bout half of them didn't go off in my SBH, took em apart and reloaded them with fresh primer and powder and all was well.

It's posts like this that amaze some of us older farts and make us shake our heads.

1. Not knowing what a cannelure is.
2. Saying it's the first time they've seen it.
3. Being concerned because it's there.

Us old farts grew up with wheelguns and seeing the cannelure on much of the factory loaded ammo. Some of us might even remember seeing dual cannelures on some wadcutter brass.

I see it used on current/new premium carry ammo to help prevent bullet set back in autoloaders- and that’s with jacketed ammo. I can’t remember who off hand, I think Corbon.

28 special FULL lead wad cutter ammo has the cannelures
I use them in my SW M 52

That’s some custom stuff there- 28 Special. Even I’m not old enough to remember that! I bet you need to cast for that, and lathe your own cases...

Ohi, I find the Herter's brass that shows up in the lots of once fired I have bought to be a PITA. Mostly I just let it go into the recycle bucket.

Yes, it is a very rare and "minty" gun. Only one was ever made.:)
I have a similar 39 special.;)
