This is the 2nd meetup of the CFTC. We will be meeting in downtown Wilmington from 4-8pm on Sunday nov 13. Location is available upon request. Anyone of any skill level is welcome as long as he or she follows the ground rules. Police/LEO, military, concealed handgun permit holders, and females with an interest in self-defense are especially encouraged to attend.

We will be covering:

Review of Managing Unknown Contacts
Review of the high compressed fence position
Review of the "default position"
Review of ground-fighting 101
Positioning and carrying gear for practical access
The concept of in-fight weapon access (IFWA)
The concept of dominant position, importance of forward drive, and controlling the opponent's limbs
Mid-range blade work
Brief look at clinch blade work
Force-on-force skill testing

The CFTC is a group of people who are motivated by a common interest in self-defense and personal preservation and who work together on building proficiency in skills relevant to self-defense, with the end-goal being a fluency that allows for on-the-fly decision making to ensure self-preservation in lethal encounters.

The cost is free.

Students must bring eye protection. Athletic protectors and mouthguards are optional.

This course borrows heavily, with permission and giving full credit where due, to Southnarc of Shivworks (www.shivworks.com)

The group trains verbal, empty hand, knife, and gun skills. Safety and respect are emphasized in order to provide a safe and comfortable environment where trainees can build skills with drills, and pressure-test their skills using force-on-force tactics.

I may be able to make it. However, what should I expect based on: Students must bring eye protection. Athletic protectors and mouthguards are optional.

Really, what should I bring besides eye wear?

Shoot me an email.

Farb, I'm going to PM you. There's no link to email you.

Sorry about the late reply. Sometimes things just don't work out the way they're supposed to. Totally got fouled up this weekend so maybe another time?

I've added an email addy. . .

Lee, for reasons we discussed I may do these weekly for a bit.
