I visited Glock in Smyrna, GA a couple of years ago (I used to live there so I went back with my wife to visit friends and old neighbors) to have my EDC factory checked and have night sights installed. At the time I only had the 1 Glock. While I was in the waiting room I saw a guy that had a tool box/tackle box type of hard case if I remember correctly and he had it configured to hold ~6 handguns. I think they were held on rods through the barrels. In other words, the guns were standing up, not laying down in foam, but they weren't touching each other. Since then I've added a few more Glocks to my collection and at some point I will be going back by Smyrna for another visit, so I would like to take them all in for a free checkup. I've been searching, with no success, for a similar transportation setup that I saw there last time. For further info, I already have a foam-padded, lay down type of case that will hold several handguns that I can lock and put on a plane. I'm looking for something much smaller. It does not need to stand up to crazy transportation scenarios (like bouncing around in car/plane) as I will put them in something more secure for driving to/from Georgia. This is really just to carry them from my car, to the guard's shack to get zip-tied and then into the waiting room. I don't want to carry some huge case around just to take ~6 handguns inside. So think small tackle box size. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm never heard of the rod thing
I could be wrong. Maybe they were sitting on shelves of some type. At the time I thought it was interesting, but I didn't have the need for it so I didn't pay special attention to it. Now I'm wishing I would have talked to the guy, or snapped a photo. The thing is he and another guy were having some really deep conspiracy conversation about prisoner box cars and mass coffin sites so I was a little distracted.

These are still in foam, but not laying flat. From Pelican Case

The 6 pistol case looks really nice. It's bigger than what I was imagining, but it would double as a good full-service travel case.

To get even smaller I've continued my search and I'm thinking that I could take a couple of either of these and find the correct size box to put them in. I do like the nice finished look of the pelican case though...
