Anywhere USA, look behind you!
The "Only" caliber I don't own and want to add to my battery is a .45. Because this will only be a range gun and the last I intend to "work up," I wanted something different. Has anyone spent the $$$ and gotten a damascus slide. Is it as "stunning" in the hand as in the pictures? Is there anything the buyer should beware of or, if you had to do it again would do differently? Thanks in advance.:)

Clark Custom Guns used these to make their 50th Anniversary commemorative gun, and they look GREAT! I've handled one (can't afford it, though... :( ), and there's a picture of it here. Clark's have used them to build guns for customers before, and they report excellent results. If you want more info, why not contact them? Contact details are here.

The father of the indoor range ower, where I shoot every week, has one of those special Clark models. It is absolutely drop dead gorgeous!!

He's a building contractor, and his crew got together and bought him one a couple of Christmases ago. Kinda pricey for me, but I shure would like to have one.

Not yet, but I am saving my pennies(and more!!)

I got quite a few 1911's and LOVE 'em!! And I have decided to start a project for my 45th birthday in slightly less than 2 years!
This Christmas...I order a Caspian Damascus slide, commander length with my name engraved upon it with a fitted Caspian Titanium Officer's frame, cut for a ramped barrel...damascus hammer too!
Next birthday...I order all the internals.
Next Christmas...I order the ramped match barrel, bushing and whatever night sites I have decided on by then.
Then, it goes to my favorite 'smith for assembly and a 'melt-down'.
Come my 45th bithday, I'll have a primo, one of a kind life long friend!
My Sunday go to church .45(if I ever go to church, that is!).
Me like!!
