...but it wasn't a bad thing! Let me explain. On 10/6 I went to my first "black tie" party. It was a fund raiser for the Arthritis Foundation. I'm sure you have a mental image of the "type" I expected to be with for the evening. At our table were eight people,(four were my family), but one lady worked on the committee setting up the event. As the dinner conversion drifted over MANY subjects. Finally we got around to the hobby/intrest list...so I asked if she or her husband hunted...and the flood gates opened!Turns out she recently bought him a new gun...she described it as an M-something. He is in the Guard so its a military style but she couldn't be very specific. What she really loved was going to the range with him and banging away at targets!She went on for 15 min. about how much FUN it was, and how she was looking foreward to the next trip. Her eyes were on fire...the most excited I'd seen her all night. It was COOL!
I've said all this just to encourage everyone to TALK about our sport. You never know ... you might be sitting next to the most enthusiastic new shooter you've ever met. Or maybe a past national champ that could teach more in five min. than we can remember. Talk it up! theres lots of us around!
