CCW belt size

I will be getting my ccw soon and I find myself in need of a new belt. It just so happens I have a gift card to an online retailer that is enough to buy a quality gun belt. I just didn't know how much bigger of a belt I needed to order. Any help would be appreciated. I normally wear size 32 waist. I haven't decided which gun I will be carrying, but it will be a small 45 such as an xds, Kahr cw45, or one of the small Glocks. There is also a chance I might settle on a snub 357. I will be carrying in a crossbreed super tuck.

Waist size +4 seems to be the rule of thumb. So you would order size 36. That's what Tommy Theis goes by and he makes an awesome belt!

I lucked out as I wear a size 32 pants and use a 32 belt. Works perfect for me and doesn't feel tight. It is better to have more belt than you need than to have a belt too small and need another one.

Either have 2 belts or one with extra holes if you switch from IWB to OWB. Weapon type makes a difference as well. A Sig P238 is much easier IWB than a Glock 27

I would suggest a belt with 7 holes spaced 3/4" apart....it would allow finer tuning for however you carried, iwb or owb.
Keep in mind, the store-bought belts are usually marked according to your pant size...so if you wear a 32 you would look for 32 belt at the store (most people do not know how to properly measure for a belt so the store makes it easy for ya)....but if you measure that belt the way a custom maker asks that you do, you would find that your belts size will be 3-4" more than you pant size.

That is exactly true.

I give the belt makers a pass on the "wrong size issue". They all tell you how to order. If you order the wrong size, it's your fault. Your jean size almost never is equal to your belt size.

Rick Garcia makes great belts. All mine are spaced 3/4" apart with seven holes.
