My new rifle is a 22WMR and ALL the ammo carries a copper jacket.

Should I follow break-in procedures used for center fire rifles or just shoot the gun like a 22LR which uses non-jacketed lead bullets?

Thx,,,,

What is your breakin procedure most guns do not need one and it only slightly increases accuracy you can never fully stripe the copper from your barrel and the shoot one clean one method is teadious and expensive with minimal results I say go buy a brick of ammo instead of a bottle of solvent and shoot it.On the rare ocasion this is your 100 yard split the X competetion rifle id say go to a gunsmith and have him polish the bore.I owne two 22 wmr marlins and never broke them in along with plenty of center fires that got feed 150 200 rounds cleaned then put up and never doubted their accuracy 'as long as I did my part' your gun will shoot just as good if you just shoot it instead of babying it through its first shots as its a new rifle i believe your familiarity and comfort with the gun is most important to its accuracy not the recomended practices of the radical few.

It don't need no steenk'n break-in.

For .22 RF barrels, including .22 WMR barrels, you will do more damage cleaning too much then not enough.
Unlike hi-power rifle barrels, RF barrels are normally made from mild steel and cleaning rod damage & wear is always a factor.

Just shoot it.
